Dr. Eric Johnston is the Chief Innovation Officer at the Nuclear Innovation Institute (NII), where he leads efforts turning good ideas into great projects for some of Canada’s largest companies in the nuclear space. His familiarity with emerging technologies like advanced manufacturing and machine learning, combined with knowledge of nuclear issues from isotopes to radiation exposure, has helped him develop projects and get them funded, with academic and government partners including the U.S. Department of Defense and the Canadian Space Agency. Eric has a PhD in Health/Medical Physics from McMaster University and a nuclear engineering undergraduate degree from Queen’s University.
